THE TRADITIONAL DUBROVNIK TABLE RAISED A RECORD-BREAKING AMOUNT FOR HUMANITARIAN PURPOSES
The traditional ˝Dubrovnik Table˝ was held the last day of the fourth Good Food Festival Dubrovnik 2017. Along the entire length of Stradun, 42 participants presented their creations on a table that was 142 metres long, including many Dubrovnik hotels and restaurants, bakers, confectioners and caterers, as well as winemakers from Konavle and Pelješac, who presented their knowledge and skills. This was a real visual delight and a treat for the palate for of all lovers of good food and wine. At affordable prices, food vouchers cost 35 kuna and drink vouchers cost 15 kuna, one could enjoy the many delicacies and wine tasting. During the program led by Ivica Puljić, beginning at 11 am, the cultural arts association St. Juraj Osojnik performed traditional folklore dances and the klapa multipart singing group Ragusavecchia also performed, while the Dubrovnik Table opening ceremony was held by the Mayor of Dubrovnik Mato Franković at 11:45 am.
A record-breaking amount of 64,500 kuna was raised, all of which will go to humanitarian causes: the Special Friend Association - ˝Arriving Safely at One's Destination˝ and the Association for Training Guide Dogs and for Mobility, the Dubrovnik Club for Users of Seeing Eye Dogs.
Along with the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, the Dubrovnik Table was organised by the City of Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the Croatian Chamber of Economy – County Chamber Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Neretva County Chamber of Economy, the Catering and Tourism Guild and the Dubrovnik Tourism and Hospitality School.
