˝GOÛT DE FRANCE˝

The event ˝Goût de France˝ celebrates the art of living ˝à la française˝ and homemade products, showing the value of France as a tourist destination. One of the goals of the event is to communicate the main values of French cuisine, excellence, and a modern approach. This year, on March 21st, chefs from 10 restaurants throughout Croatia will present menus based on recipes inspired by French artistry. Participating in this event in Dubrovnik is the restaurant Stara Loza with chef Damir Šarić, and in the town of Cavtat, the restaurant Bugenvila with chef Lukasz Widomski.

Goût de France / Good France, an event that celebrates French gastronomy and its values, will be held at various locations around the world for the second year in a row, on 21 March 2016. After the huge success of the first edition, this year's event will bring together 1,500 chefs on five continents. Dinners served at the same time around the world will honour the greatest achievements of French cuisine, as well as its core values: sharing, enjoyment, and respect for the principles of high-quality cuisine. In 2016, a total of 1,500 restaurants on five continents are participating in this event. The French diplomatic network will also be included, as 150 ambassadors around the world will organize dinners around this theme.

Auguste Escoffier began with the idea of Epicurean dinners in 1912: the same day, the same menu, served in cities around the world to as many guests as possible. In 2015 the first edition of Goût de France / Good France was inspired by this idea, with the worldwide goal of connecting restaurants of all categories and the participation of three Croatian restaurants. The second edition of this international event also celebrates the recent inclusion of French cuisine in the UNESCO category of Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as its worldwide influence.
