The eighteenth annual charity event Festa 2019 Dubrovnik, which will be organised in honour of St. Blaise and the Day of the City of Dubrovnik, will begin with the traditional Klapa Festival on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Marin Držić Theatre. The klapa festival will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the klapa group MAESTRAL on January 24th at the Marin Držić Theatre and will feature performances by klapa Maestral, the Linđo folklore ensemble, and the klapa groups Kaše, Kumpanji, Ošjak, Ragusavecchia, and Subrenum. Tickets for the concert can be purchased at the theatre box office.

 

A concert featuring OPERA DIVAS IN THE CHURCH OF ST. BLAISE will be held on January 25th at 7 pm by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra Quintet and opera divas Diana Hilje, Terezija Kusanović, Jelena Štefanić, and Tanja Ruždjak.

 

The main charity gala concert FESTA 2019 DUBROVNIK #vjerujuljubav will be held on Saturday, January 26th at Hotel Rixos Libertas beginning at 8 pm. The concert will be held by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra which will be directed by conductor Alan Bjelinski and will feature performances by Dupini, Tereza Kesovija, Nina Badrić, Tedi Spalato, Meri Cetinić, Zorica Kondža, Jacques Houdek, Oliver J. Berekin, Paula Jusić, Zoran Mišolongin, Stijepo Gleđ Markos, Ines Tričković, Davor Erceg, and Nevio Končić. Tickets costing 80 kuna can be purchased at the following retail outlets: Hotel Rixos Libertas, Patrea florist (DTS building), caffe bar Fashion (DOC) and beginning January 17th, at the Dubrovnik Tourist Board at Pile (from 12 noon to 6 pm).

 

A workshop on traditional dishes and wines for the Festivity of St. Blaise, organised in cooperation with the Deša Dubrovnik Association and the Tourism and Hospitality School, will be held at the Mimoza Restaurant on January 30th at 11 am. The opening of the exhibition ORLANDO AND ST. BLAISE will be held in the foyer of the Marin Držić Theatre on January 30th starting at 7.30 pm, in cooperation with DULU, the Croatian Heritage Foundation, and the Marin Držić Theatre.

 

For the third consecutive year the DUBROVNIK ROCK PARADE will be a great musical treat for all visitors to the Dubrovnik Museum of Modern Art on the Night of Museums on February 1st, organised in cooperation with Klub Lazareti and the Museum of Modern Art Dubrovnik.

The WINE FESTIVAL will be traditionally held on Candlemas beginning at 11 am at the Gradska kavana (City Café), in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Crafts of Dubrovnik and Neretva County.

 

The presentation of the French translation of Marin Držić's play Skup published by the Marin Držić House will be held as part of this year’s Festa on February 4th at 10 am in the foyer of the Marin Držić Theatre.

 

The charitable aspect of the eighteenth FESTA is for the Anti-Cancer League and for the restoration of the Church of St. Blaise.
