Dubrovnik continues promotion on the American market
The promotion of Dubrovnik in the USA is a continuation of activities aimed at promoting Dubrovnik in the most important emitting markets during the global pandemic. Keeping visibility and targeted promotion of Dubrovnik and Croatia as an attractive and safe tourist destination is crucial.


During the winter and spring, Dubrovnik is promoted in the magazines of the largest American airlines: American Airlines and United Airlines, which due to the current situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic are distributed to other channels to reach their customers. United Airlines magazine "Hemispheres" is distributed monthly to the home addresses of 350 thousandmembers of their Premiere Club and is sent in digital form to the e-mail addresses of 11 million passengers.

American Airlines magazine "American Way" is sent in digital form to 14 million addresses of users of their services, in addition to being distributed to passengers on each aircraft and on each route. In the spring, a report on Dubrovnik is planned for digital and print editions on several pages in the inflight magazine, on all routes and in all American Airlines aircraft. As part of the campaign, it was agreed to shoot a ten minute promotional video about Dubrovnik, which will be broadcast for three months in the period from May to August, on all routes and on all aircraft, but also on American Airlines social networks, after which it will remain in the video system in aircrafts for the next twelve months.

Dubrovnik is constantly present on the American market, so in October 2020, in cooperation with the Croatian Tourist Board and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, a video about Dubrovnik, a "hidden gem" open for the tourists at the time of the coronavirus pandemic, was recorded in the program of one of the most successful American tourist shows "The Travel Detective" on PBS television. The author of the video is Peter Greenberg, multiple Emmy Award winner and editor-in-chief of CBS Travel, a renowned investigative journalist and a top expert on tourism topics.

Also, ASTA DESTINATION EXPO 2021, a conference of American experts in tourism, which could not be held in December due to the pandemic, will be held in Dubrovnik from April 15th to 18th this year. The conference, which will be held with the support of the Croatian Tourist Board and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board at the Valamar Lacroma Hotel, and is organized by the City of Dubrovnik, Amcro Travel, Elite Travel and HIT Dalmatia, is a unique opportunity to promote Dubrovnik and Croatia.

The hosting of numerous American tourism experts in Dubrovnik, who negotiate deals directly with Croatian tourism service providers through B2B meetings, will be an optimistic start to this year's tourist season.
