The fourth Dubrovnik Winter Festival, organised by the City of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, cultural institutions and public companies, will take place from 2 December 2017 to 6 January 2018 at multiple locations in Dubrovnik’s historic centre as well as in other parts of the city.
The programme of the Dubrovnik Winter Festival will begin with the lighting of the first Advent candle, followed by the lighting of holiday lights and a performance of Croatian pop singer Gibonni in front of the Church of St. Blaise at 9 pm. Holliday cottages featuring various food and beverages will also be placed on Dubrovnik streets and squares.
Croatian pop singer Jacques Houdek will entertain on December 8th in from of the Church of St. Blaise beginning at 9pm, while on December 9th at 10 am the tenth annual ˝Cake Party˝ will be held, and in the evening hours of the same day the Croatian pop singer Massimo will also perform in front of the Church of St. Blaise.
Dubrovnik Tourist Board will stage a ˝Christmas Fairy Tale˝ on December 16th at 11 am, when youngsters will have the opportunity to enjoy a fitting entertainment programme as well as gifts. At 9 pm the Croatian band Pavel will perform.
A Christmas concert will be held in the Hotel Lacroma on December 22nd at 8 pm. The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, Stijepo Gleđ Markos, Đani Stipaničev, Marija Kuhar Šoša and the klapa multipart singing groups Ragusa, Kaše and Subrenum will perform.
On December 23rd at 5:30 pm, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dubrovnik will stage a live Nativity scene on Stradun, while at 9 pm Marko Tolja Septet will perform in front of the Church of St. Blaise. On December 24th at noon, the traditional joint performance of the folklore ensemble Linđo, the Libertas choir and Dubrovnik Brass Band will be held.
On Saturday, December 30th at 9 pm the women’s quartet The Frajle will perform. In the morning hours of December 31st, the Children’s New Year’s Eve will be held, while a spectacular New Year’s Eve party on Stradun will be opened at 9 pm by the Croatian band Pravila Igre, followed by the Songkillers, and the regional pop star Dino Merlin.
The traditional concert of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will be held on January 1st at noon, accompanied by oysters and sparkling wine, followed by the New Year’s ˝10k˝ race that will begin at 2 pm.
