The presentation of the book was held in the Library of Conway Hall, a humanist research centre and publishing house, as part of a series of cultural evenings entitled ˝Image - Music – Text˝. In addition to the translator and author of the afterword Filip Krenus, the book presentation was attended by Nikša Matić, Director of the Marin Držić House, Pavo Jančić, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Marin Držić House and Susan Curtis, the editor of this edition. The Croatian Ambassador to the United Kingdom H.E. Igor Pokaz also attended the presentation.

˝Now that we have such a high quality translation of Dundo Maroje, I hope that soon we will be able to talk about a new encounter between Držić and the English audience. An encounter that will take place in theatre halls across England, as well as on the stage of other English-speaking countries. Because, recalling Držić's work, which crosses historical, geographical and cultural boundaries, it is the best form of affirmation of Croatian culture in the world. Even today, his ideas are current and his worldview holds the most beautiful parts of the European humanist tradition˝, said Prof. Jančić in his remarks.

The role of the international theatre festival ˝Midsummer Scene˝ was especially highlighted. A partner of the Marin Držić House, it marked the anniversary of the death of Marin Držić last year through the program ˝Držić meets Shakespeare˝ and the translation of Dundo Maroje to English stemmed from this cooperation.

˝One of the most important projects of the Cultural Centre of the City of Dubrovnik, the Marin Držić House, on the 450th anniversary of the death of Marin Držić, is the translation of Dundo Maroje into English. Filip Krenus' translation, published in this book, is the first translation of the integral text of the comedy Dundo Maroje into English, and the specificity and value of this edition should be highlighted, since all previous translations of Dundo Maroje into English have been in shorter, abridged forms such as for adaptations for theatre plays. Marin Držić found his place in the Dubrovnik of his time. We firmly believe that he will find his place in Shakespeare's London in our global era˝, concluded Nikša Matić.
