From its foundation in 1965, the Linđo Folklore Ensemble has enthralled the audiences in Dubrovnik, but also in Europe, the USA, Australia, Japan and the South America.

The ensemble consists of young girls and boys of Dubrovnik who dance and sing in the original and priceless national costumes. Bursting with liveliness, joy and cheerfulness, their performances reveal the rich tradition of Croatian folklore.

The ensemble was named after the most popular wheel-dance of the Dubrovnik area, in which the dancers perform to the accompaniment of the ancient instrument called lijerica, following the instructions of the leading dancer. An essential part of the Dubrovnik Festival folklore programme for many years, the Linđo Ensemble has by now engaged several thousand young dancers.
