When a customer enters a taxi, the taximeter must be running, with the start amount of 25 kn. If the taximeter is not running, the customer is not obliged to pay the fare. Every extra kilometre costs 8 kunas. The taxi accommodates a maximum of four people. Waiting is charged at 80 kunas per hour, and each piece of luggage 2 kunas.
If you would like to lodge a complaint for the taxi service charge, it would be useful to obtain the bill from the driver including the valid stamp, the service given and the registration plate.
The taxi fare from Gruž Harbour (where cruisers land, 4 kilometres from the Old City) to Pile (western entrance to he Old City) will cost you 70 kunas per taxi, and the drive from Pile to one of the hotels located in other parts of the city from 55 - 70 kunas, depending on the distance.
You may take a taxi for a memorable panoramic tour of the City and its surroundings (1 hour costs 330 kunas). Such tour usually includes a drive to the new bridge offering a view of Gruž Harbour, Lapad, Rijeka Dubrovačka and the islands. You may continue the tour along the Adriatic Highway with a view over the entire city, and go to Mount Srđ (412 metres) and enjoy a memorable panoramic view of Dubrovnik and the surrounding area.
You may also arrange a whole or half day excursion to the surroundings of Dubrovnik and arrange the price with the driver.
